Somali Heritage in International Collections
Horn Heritage has traced some of the collections of art and artefacts taken from the Somali region during the colonial times by Britain, France and Italy. We are now for the first-time collating, digitising and displaying these objects which are spread all over the world. The remarkable objects are a testimony to the artistic, scientific and technological ingenuity of our grandfathers and grandmothers. Thanks to our innovative global program and to the good collaborating spirit of the international holders of this collection, now our children who only know war, drought, and the circumstances that cause them to leave their countries, will know their beautiful history and heritage.
Collected by the Powell-Cotton family, UK in the area between Mogadishu and Kismayo Somalia and the Somali Region of Ethiopia.
